Arsonists target Aylsham churches in latest attacks

Two churches have been damaged in arson attacks in Aylsham.

St John of the Cross church on White Hart Street suffered smoke damage and damage to the door after an unknown material was set alight and pushed through the letterbox sometime betweem 11am on Sunday, April 17, and 3.45pm on Monday, April 18.

And St Michael’s Church on Market Place suffered smoke damage after three wheelie bins were set alight outside sometime between 6pm on Wednesday, April 20, and 7.55am on Thursday, April 21.

Police believe the arson is linked and have appealed to the public for help to catch the culprits.
